2021 Annual February Food Drive Underway!

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank reports that, in Lancaster County, there are about 74,580 individuals estimated to be Food Insecure. That’s 1 in 7 persons. More concerningly, they estimate that 27,190 (or 1 in 5) are children*. Nutritional food sources are essential to building, keeping and maintaining individual and community health. In response to the unprecedented need to assist families in having access to healthy and affordable food, we’ve kicked off our Annual February Food Drive.

Now, through February 28, 2021, Northwest EMS is accepting donations of food to support our local food banks. Non-perishable food donations can be made by dropping the items at our Elizabethtown Station (380 W Bainbridge St) or at our Manheim Station (60 W Colebrook St).  All donations will be delivered to the food banks that are geographically located within the Northwest EMS response area; specifically, the Elizabethtown Community Cupboard, the East Donegal Conoy Christian Food Bank, and the Manheim Central Food Bank.

During our 2020 February Food Drive, we collected approximately 700 lbs of food!  We are hoping we can exceed that amount in 2021.
