Time to Protect Against Ticks

From May through July, people get tick bites and tickborne diseases more often than any other time of year in the United States, but many may not know they are at risk.

Each year, nearly 30,000 confirmed cases of Lyme disease are reported to CDC, but a recent national survey reported that nearly 20 percent of people in areas where Lyme disease is common were unaware that it was a risk.

Northwest EMS Tops Goal For Manheim Station Fund

More than $1 million has been pledged for the new Northwest EMS station in Manheim. The campaign began last year with the goal of raising $900,000 within the Manheim area, which is the area that will be served by the Manheim EMS station. Donors exceeded that with a total of $1,033,000 pledged. The pledges will be paid over the next five years.
